Never thought I'd do 2 posts in one day! haha!
But, who really cares?!
I can't believe that 2010 is at its end! What a year it was!

Here were 10 big and small events:
1. January- Loving life in Nashville,TN and my wonderful job at Pickles & Ice Cream
2. February-Moved home to SC and started a new job as a Chiropracter's Assistant....blech
3. March- Went to East Asia....(can't wait to go again!) and quit my job a week later.....
4. April- Got engaged over Easter!
5. May- My 25th Birthday!
6. June & July- 3 Wedding Showers and moving Matt to IN
7. August- Married on August 7th!!! Wahoo!!
8. September & October-  Newlywed months of setting up house and starting up the BLOG :)

10. December- started my ETSY shop and came home again for Christmas

It might not have been a crazy year, but it was a wonderful one. I now have a wonderful husband. A larger and amazing family with a loving Lord that is beside me throughout it all!

I hope that 2011 will be even better, Lord willing! Blessings to you and yours!

Happy New Year!

MoRe sNoW!! *

We thought we got away from all the cold, wet, and snow when coming to SC to see our families.
Guess again.
Unfortunately, we didn't get a White Christmas.
The snow came the very next day.
And it was beautiful.
Now it is gone after only 2 days- which is how I like it!

It snowed two weekends in a row while we were home in IN. It was beautiful and we were able to go sledding!! Enjoy some fun pictures:

Ornament Knock-off {Pottery Barn}

We already know that i HEART Mod Podge!!!!
Mod Podge (short for Modern Decoupage in case you were wondering) comes in many different types: Matte, Gloss, Satin, Hard Coat, Paper, Fabric, Outdoor, Shimmer, Sparkle, Glitter, Puzzle, and my new favorite.....Dimensional Magic.
There is even a Mod Podge Rocks blog dedicated to it! :)

This tutorial can be used for either of these Pottery Barn knock-off ornaments!

The music ornament ($8 each)  and bird ornaments ($29 for a set of 4)
I've made these little beauties as Christmas gifts for easy mailing to some family members.
Alright, let's get started...

Supplies:
Scissors
Ribbon
Mod Podge (I used Gloss)
Mod Podge Dimensional Magic
Sheet Music AND Pictures of Birds ( from the Graphics Fairy)
4in. Wood Disc Rounds (pack of 6 at Hobby Lobby)
Hot Glue gun
Hot Glue sticks

1. Trace out circles from your selected Sheet Music for both sides of the ornaments (12 total)
Also, cut out the birds and little extras you want and Pre-Arrange them as how you want them to look!!
2. Mod Podge the wood and place the music paper on the top of the disc
3. Place the cut out birds and extras onto the still wet discs and Mod Podge on top of them to seal them there. Let dry (usually 10 minutes). Trim the edges with the scissors around the circle!
4. On the back of the disc place the piece of cut ribbon (6in) onto the back with ribbon sides flat. Mod Podge on top of the ribbon and disc.

5. Place the other cut out paper right on top of the ribbon and smooth out. Mod Podge on top and let dry for 10 minutes.

6. Take some decorative ribbon (using something glittery works best) and hot glue the ribbon around the outer edges of the ornament.

7. Take your Mod Podge Dimensional and completely cover the top (do NOT squeeze or shake the bottle, it's pretty thin and will come out on its own). Make sure to fill in any air bubbles. It's pretty visible when wet so the spots you missed should be easy to see. Let dry for about 3 hours.

The top ones have the Dimensional the bottom left does not
Once the dimensional is dry it will be smooth and shiny. You can do the back if you so desire. Sharpie marker is nice to put the year on the back and won't smear.

Enjoy!

Honeymoon

I haven't posted any of these pictures to Facebook (and probably won't). Since Matt had just started a new job, we had 5 days for vacation. One of those days was used for traveling to SC for the rehearsal & rehearsal dinner and another day to travel back to IN. So we had 3 fabulous days to spend in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!!! Which was amazing, relaxing, and fun!

We stayed at the Melia Puerto Vallarta. Having all-inclusive was SO nice!!! We never had to worry about driving/finding places to eat and were given plenty of yummy drinks whenever we wanted one!
