Live FashionABLE

I received these 4 beautiful scarves in the mail the other day and I was SO excited to get them!! I think I have a slight obsession with scarves......I may or may not own 30......HAHA!!
What I like about these scarves is that each scarf has it's own story and is personally made by someone. Not mass produced. Not sold in 5,000 stores. Not made by huge machines.
AND I love that they help support a worthy cause!!

One of my friends from college moved to Nashville not long after I did (we share the same major and were roomies my last yr at UK) to attend grad school and worked with the Mocha Club (you may have heard of this project if you've ever attended a Dave Barnes' concert) ;)  She so graciously mailed me some scarves from the bin.

Anyhow, I wanted to share with you about this wonderful non-profit and the blessing it has become for many.

Read about each of the women's stories HERE

Here are close up shots of my new (YAY!) scarves :
MESELU in Sage Green

ETANESH in Jade Green

DEMBER in Plum/Teal

ETANESH in Ivory

I am lovin my new scarves! They are super soft and versatile! :) The striped one is my favorite followed by the ivory one (it's stretchy)! All scarves come in a variety of colors, textures, and designs and they are all made with 100% cotton. Go check 'em out!!!!

& I'm pretty sure your mom wants a scarf for Mother's Day!!!!

{Just had to add this cute photo of Beaux modeling one of the scarves LOL}

Disclaimer: I did NOT receive the scarves as a payment or promotion for blogging about them. These scarves had slight (minor) defects and were not for sale on the website and are not for resale. The company logos and facts come from their website. Any personal opinions are my own.

Sponsor Spotlight {Que Linda!}

Today I'd like to share with you my first ever Sponsor Spotlight!!! Whoo!!!
A place where I can "brag on" and ask questions of blogger friends in hopes that we can create new friendships within this wonderful community!! I hope that you enjoy this new addition to the blog :)

Without further ado, meet Janny of Que Linda!!

I came to follow her blog last October through a link party when I clicked on her awesome bedroom reveal!!! Que Linda (which means "How Pretty") is a blog full of wonderful sewing tutorials, crafts, home decor, food, and....just a little bit of everything! This girl has talent!!!

1. Tell me a little bit about yourself:
I have a wonderful husband, Brian, and together we have a 1 1/2 year old daughter that keeps us busy. My day-to-day life revolves around these two fantastic people and I wouldn't change it for the world. I studied Family Studies at the University of Arizona and one day I want to get a masters in Occupational Therapy- that would be a dream come true!! For now I enjoy being a stay-at-home mama.

2. When did you start Que Linda? Why?
I started Que Linda this last September after our family moved from NH to AZ for my husband to go back to school for his doctorate in optical engineering. It was quite the change of plans for our family. We thought about having me go back to work, but that idea never settled for me so I decided to stay home. I started my blog in hopes to make some supplemental income for our family. That sounds silly now since my reasons for blogging have changed so much. I've grown up so much from pushing myself to share my creative side with the world. I've also surprised myself with the stuff I've come up with. This has become an incredibly fulfilling hobby that keeps me sane while raising a little one.

3. What inspires you?
Pinterest, of course!! I'm amazed by what others have come up with. My daughter, The Little Lady, is also an inspiration. So much of what I make is for her.

4. List 5 of your favorite things at this moment....
*Aged wood- I'm obsessed over the pallet trend
*Paint- more specifically spray paint. It was the greatest thing invented since sliced bread.
*Gardening- my husband & I have been reading gardening books and articles for years and have yet to plant a successful garden. Perhaps this year.
*Going to the park- the weather is gorgeous right now in our neck of the woods.
*Chicken Taco Salad- I look forward to this on our menu each week.

5. What is your favorite project?
My favorite project so far is my fall wreath.  I had this idea of what I wanted it to look like in the end, but I wasn't sure exactly how I was going to pull it off.  I made it up as I went and miraculously it turned out just as I had envisioned it.  Seriously, I stared in awe at it for days after it was hung up.

6. Any project disasters?
Project Disasters?  Oh yea!  Just yesterday I was organizing some of my sewing scraps and stumbled upon remnants from previous projects.  I found several pieces of massacred purple knit fabric from the ruffle skirt I made for The Little Lady.  I originally planned to make myself a maxi skirt with a bubble on the bottom, which was pretty much crazy.  I was almost finished with it when I realized it was just plain ugly so I made something completely different.

7. How do you spend your time when you're not blogging?
I love to hike and go on walks with my family.  Reading a good book is much lower on my to-do list since I started the blog, but I still enjoy it when I get the time.

8. Anything else?
Thank you Jamie for having me over to share a little about myself!
*Thanks so much for sharing!! :)

These are just a few of (my favorite) the projects at Que Linda:

My Monday Rambling

Today is President's Day & Matt's older brother's birthday!! Happy 26th Birthday!
It is sunny and gorgeous outside, but a little windy. Looking forward to a nice walk with the pup after I run some errands.

I'm SO pumped that I have crossed the 25 follower mark! THANK YOU!! I truly look forward to every new follower and comment!! It makes my heart smile :) Also, I can't wait to add some *new items* to my Etsy as well this week! So be on the lookout!!!

Matt and I were in Greensboro this past Saturday to attend a memorial service honoring his grandma and  in support of his dad and our family. It was a special time of sharing memories, stories, and words of wisdom. It is always nice just to be with family. I was able to learn more about her since I never had the pleasure of meeting Matt's grandmother.

On Friday, I decided to link up my "Happy Spring/Easter" wreath at two of my favorite inspirational craft blogs. And in doing so, I was able to check out what everyone else in blog world was creating. There were over 600 links @ Tatertots & Jello and Whipperberry had 96!! So many fun things to see!

Therefore, I wanted to share my favorite find with you!! It has many elements that I enjoy: photographs, frames, fabric, art, an embroidery hoop, a wreath, a monogram, and plenty of COLOR :)

Kari
made this sweet Gallery Art for her daughter's bedroom

She explains what she did in her pictures and gives
details of where she purchased the items and what paint color she used.
How cute is this?!!?!

She is also in need of some advice for painting the bed....any suggestions?
Check out the post
here!!! & let her know what you think :)
