Traveling to Tybee

We will be celebrating our anniversary (August 7th) by taking the entire week before on a trip down to Tybee Island, (near Savannah) Georgia. We are taking Matt's parent's Airstream to a campsite on the beach!! I am pretty excited to have the us time we so desperately need!!
And I can't wait to post about our exciting adventure!!
I know you're jealous about the vintage Airstream!! ;)

But, before we leave, we are moving! Yikes!
So, right now I am busy packing and getting things together for us to head out tomorrow!

When Life Gives You Lemons

I apologize for having been a little MIA this week!

Matt and I have been fighting some major congestion and exhaustion. Bed time has been early every night this week (well- early for this night owl)! Plus, time is winding down until we move again and I need to get a jump start on packing and cleaning. We're about 95% sure where we're moving, but I'll save that secret until we know for sure!! ;)

[Some things I've enjoyed this week]

1. I'm being challenged through reading the blog A Holy Experience ( by Ann Voskamp- author of 1,000 Gifts). Read it here. I have often pushed aside the importance of studying and memorizing Scripture. Knowing verses hasn't been at the forefront of my life in a while. I think the last time I tried to learn a large chunk of verses was on a car trip several years ago. I know it's important for recall in times of need or praise. I can say I "know" a lot of scripture, but I'm excited about how it will change my faith!

2. Mailing letters and cards using the new Go Green stamps. They make me smile! Ps- I love sending and receiving mail.

3. I'd really like to try and start monthly meal planning. But, I have a husband that really loves to cook and likes to create more "spur of the moment" dishes.....Any advice?

4. Dreaming of a large beautiful kitchen (images via Pinterest)

5. Our slowly growing garden of spices (lavender, basil, rosemary, dill, cilantro, parsley)

A New Home #2

Finally!
We are now all moved in!!
We have Internet (well, sort of).
We're still trying to get all of our things organized and put away. There are several things we need to bring up from home still (I can't put away clothes without hangers!).

While at home, we spent a few days sorting, unpacking, storing, repacking, and relaxing!! I am so thankful for the time with family and warm weather! We barely beat the blizzard!
On Sunday, after a nice meal with a large group of friends from church, we drove up (Jan. 30th) to NC. Matt started his job the very next day.

In between all of the moving in, I decorated our mantle with some things I picked up from the Target One Spot {i HEART that place}. It's pretty simple and I only spent $3. I'd love to do more Valentine's Day crafts, but I can't get myself in the mood to. I'm not really into pink or purple, and I only use red in decorating when it's Christmas time. Guess that's changing a tiny bit. Here is the little set-up......

i HEART my 11x14 canvas from Canvas People! Sign up on their website to receive great deals!

I used ribbon that I already had to hang the hearts on and filled up the wineglasses as well.
I displayed the foam glitter hearts, paper doilies, and the foam word "Love"- all from Target.
The "P" wooden letter was a gift from my mom.
And there ya have it! The only things I own that are for Valentine's Day!

**Oh!!  Go check out these FREE desktop calendars!! Make sure you stop by at the beginning of each month and download your new month!** & Be sure to THANK them on their blog for these wonderful creations!!!!!!
