Star Spangled Weekend {View #5}

Prepare yourself for lots of pictures :)

This past weekend we had the opportunity to drive a short 4 hours to our nation's capitol with some friends of ours. We went to visit our friend Chris and some of my family. We had fun sight-seeing and spending time together.

[Saturday: We grilled out and then walked around downtown D.C. the rest of the day]

*I had forgotten how much fun pop rocks were to eat
*Andrew & Allison on the metro
*Crossing over the Potomac River while on the metro

* A fossilized tree at the Museum of Natural History
*The Washington Monument
*This building had 2 American flags on every single window

* At the Vietnam War Memorial
* National World War II Memorial
* A lampost that was rusted in red & blue

* At the Lincoln Memorial
*Being a slowpoke and taking pictures of myself
* Honest Abe
* My patriotic toes
*Our first time eating Ethiopian food (interesting but good) @ Dukem

[Sunday: Matt and I spent the day with my family. My aunt and uncle took us to a National's baseball game in the afternoon and afterwards we met up with my cousins & their kids at the Navy Yard for a picnic dinner]

*Our seats behind first base at the baseball game
*Matt caught Rick Ankiel's bat after it broke and flew at us!
*Overlooking the Navy Yard
*Trying to beat the rain (needless to say we got drenched)
* Inside and waiting on the metro

[Monday: In the morning we drove home, but not without a stop at IKEA. It was a short, fun trip overall and we enjoyed getting to spend time with our friends and family.]
