Cinco de Mayo Kentucky Derby Birthday

This year, my birthday fell on a Saturday. It is always Cinco de Mayo, but this year it was also the Kentucky Derby!
and what better way to celebrate than with a fiesta?!

Our friends Andrew & Allison came down to hang out with us for the weekend. 

We went out Friday night to dinner before the boys headed to a soccer game and us girls went downtown. Saturday morning we spent at the beach before coming home early afternoon to get ready for the party!

On Sunday, our community group had a low country boil dinner to celebrate mine and Ashley's birthday(s)! We even got to share in some hummingbird and carrot cake! MMM!

It was a wonderful 27th birthday. 

I can't believe I'm officially in my late twenties now.

Matthew and I went to Tybee Island for a week to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary.

Traveling to Tybee

We will be celebrating our anniversary (August 7th) by taking the entire week before on a trip down to Tybee Island, (near Savannah) Georgia. We are taking Matt's parent's Airstream to a campsite on the beach!! I am pretty excited to have the us time we so desperately need!!
And I can't wait to post about our exciting adventure!!
I know you're jealous about the vintage Airstream!! ;)

But, before we leave, we are moving! Yikes! 

So, right now I am busy packing and getting things together for us to head out tomorrow!!

This past Memorial Day weekend, we spent time in Charleston and at home. We went because Matt had some meetings for work....so we had a 5 day weekend! We are SO so blessed!
Matt and I appreciate any time spent with family, and our soon-to-be sister Sandy (check her blog) came along!! I certainly can't argue with 2 days spent at the beach soaking up the sunshine, grilling out, and a little bit of wedding planning :)
