Family Vacay {San Antonio}

I haven't been on a vacation with my parents in I don't know how long. Probably close to a decade. My cousin was getting married the weekend of April 6th and my family decided to make a week trip out of it since the wedding was in Texas. I joined my parents and little sister in San Antonio before heading to Austin where Matt met up with us.

We spent two days in San Antonio. The first day we drove over to Ft. Sam Houston (where my dad worked) and by our old house. We made it downtown just in time to get inside the Alamo before it started raining. Because of the crummy weather we ended up just going to the outlets for some shopping.

The next day proved to be beautiful and we went back to the Alamo for a re-do. We also had brunch at a Belgian place (La Frite - so yummy) and then walked along the Riverwalk.

The next part of our trip was spent in Austin. I'll save that for another post.

Ben's Bar Mitzvah

I was given the opportunity to put together the decorations for my first ever paid event (back in May) !!! :) Because of the decor photos from my brother & sister in law's wedding, I was contacted about doing the same for a bar mitzvah party. I'd never been to one before and was definitely in for a fun experience!!

My parents, sister, and in-laws were also invited to join in the celebration.
We enjoyed our first Hora along with lots of singing and dancing!
It was apparent that everyone had a wonderful time!

Welcome to Ben's Bar Mitzvah!

The guest book was a Virginia Tech helmet!!!

They had all sorts of ice cream in a freezer for later in the evening :)

Pawley's Front Porch catered the event.....
They had amazing fish tacos, fried pickles, chips & queso, fruit & veggie trays,
mini hamburgers, sweet potato fries, and more!

Guests enjoying the food, drinks, music, and atmosphere!

i HEART Charleston

I would really LOVE to live here.
Palm trees are everywhere.
The beach is close by.
Fun colorful houses.
Huge wrap around porches.
Summer 2007

Matt and I share a love for this city.
After meeting in Dec 2006, Matt went to study abroad in Paris. When he came back and I came home after the Spring semester ended, we spent our first day date -ever- in Charleston. We went to Folly Beach, walked around downtown, went to the Battery, and had lunch at Hyman's Seafood Restaurant

A few weekends ago, we went down to Charleston. We stayed at Matt's older brother & his wife's home. Everyone was in town for the Cooper River Bridge Run.
About 25,000 - 40,000 people (yes you read that right) run and walk in this race every year.
The race day was beautiful. Sunshine (low 70's) with a strong breeze.

There was a costume contest

Charleston truly is so beautiful with real Southern character.
There is an open market.
Awesome restaurants.
Architecture.
Shopping. and so much more.

We went to church at Redeemer Presbyterian on Sunday morning

Then, had lunch afterwards @ Hyman's Seafood
Maybe someday we will call this home- Lord willing.
For now, I can dream :)
